Steve Rocco Skateboard Setup (2026)

Steve Rocco is an American skateboarder and entrepreneur from Hermosa Beach, California, born January 16, 1960. He turned pro as a freestyle skater in the 1970s and received his first pro model from SIMS in 1979. When SIMS fired him in 1987, he used a $5,000 credit card advance and a deal with Rodney Mullen to co-found World Industries, one of the first pro skater-owned companies. World Industries spawned Blind Skateboards, 101, Plan B, and Duffs footwear, and was instrumental in shifting the industry toward street skating and skater ownership in the early 1990s. Rocco sold 70% of World Industries in 1998 for $30 million; the company was later sold to Globe International for $55 million. The 2007 documentary The Man Who Souled the World chronicles his story. He was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2022. In 2024 he publicly announced a return to the skate industry.
