What shoes does Tom Penny skate in?

Tom Penny skates in éS Accel x Penny. Skate shoes are built with reinforced toe caps, vulcanized or cupsole construction, and grippy gum rubber outsoles for board feel and durability. Pros often go through several pairs a month from heavy daily skating.

Tom Penny uses Mosaic ABEC 7 bearings. Bearings determine roll speed and how long your wheels keep spinning, and a properly maintained set should last as long as your wheels with regular cleaning. Pros usually upgrade bearings before swapping wheels.

About Tom Penny

Tom Penny is a British professional skateboarder from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, born April 13, 1977, who grew up skateboarding in Oxford with a small group of friends and no access to skate shops or magazines. He turned pro at 16, won the 1995 Radlands UK Championships, then relocated to California with Flip. His footage throughout the mid to late 1990s was marked by an effortless, unhurried style on switch tricks and handrails that influenced a generation of skaters including Paul Rodriguez and Andrew Reynolds. He disappeared from the American skate scene after the late 1990s and became a semi-mythical figure, resurfacing in Flip's Sorry trilogy from 2002 onwards. Transworld named him the 21st most influential skateboarder of all time in 2011. He was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2023.
