About Tommy Guerrero
Tommy Guerrero is an American professional skateboarder and musician from San Francisco, California, born September 9, 1966, of Ohlone, Chilean, and Filipino descent. He joined Powell Peralta in 1984 and became one of the original members of the Bones Brigade, where he developed a relaxed, high-speed style of street skating across San Francisco's hills. His segment in Future Primitive (1985) is recognized as the first dedicated street skating video part. In 1991 he co-founded Real Skateboards with Jim Thiebaud. He has simultaneously maintained a substantial music career spanning decades, releasing instrumental albums that blend funk, soul, jazz, and hip-hop, including Soul Food Taqueria (2003), which Rolling Stone ranked second on its year-end list. He was the recipient of the Transworld Legend award in 2013 and was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2016.
